The Panda bear is native to south central China and 99% of their diet is bamboo shoots and leaves. They are big bears with white and black fur at around 6 feet long and weight around 350 pounds. This endangered species in on the vulnerable side of the conservation status. There are an estimated 1,864 pandas in the wild as of 2013 and luckily, that number is rising. Pandas have been kept in zoos as early as the Western Han Dynasty in China.
